Clothing and shoe shopping can be a challenging task for parents. It is sometimes difficult to find clothing and shoes that fit right especially when you are working around equipment, braces, wheelchairs, orthotics, etc.

Here are a few top mama picks from our parents:

The go above the ankle for support, the insert comes out to give extra room and the slide over his smo’s (braces). They also look super cool. They also are available in a water resistant fabric for the rainy days. I purchased mine at Below The Belt and have ordered some online.

Peidro Shoes

If your child requires a rigid shoe then check out Peidro Shoes. There are loads of styles and different amounts of support. You may want to have a conversation with your physiotherapist or orthotist about whether this shoe is a good match for your child. Warning: they are expensive! If you haven’t already ask your FSCD worker to put in a request  to have your child’s shoes put on your contract.
